"Tower of Flower"

I can hear him now...that's Bob Ross..."Let's get a little crazy!" For any of you art lovers that remember the afro clad, oil slinging artist on afternoon television, he was one of my heroes! I was reminded of Bob Ross just last week when I happened upon his signature line of brushes and art supplies at a local art store. Anyway, when I decide to mix things up a bit in my studio, and stray from the pastel box and into "paint land," the voice of Bob Ross is always in the back of my mind. My New Year resolutions included more adventures in paint on canvas, and even a little print making when time allows.

"Tower of Flower" was inspired by a huge sunflower plant that sprouted up in front of the "Glass Artist Guild" in Spanish Village last summer. It was too much to ignore, with its huge flower heads towering high above my head. This piece is painted on 3/4" depth stretched canvase with sides painted dark purple, ready to hang as is, or frame if you wish. Buy it here and have it shipped, or visit my NTC/Liberty Station studio on "Friday Night Liberty" February 1st, 5-8pm and see it in person. $625 + $30 to ship anywhere in the continental US or Canada.
