Spring has given way to Summer here in San Diego, and today is scheduled to be a sizzler. With temps in the triple digits, our beautiful back country will slowly make the transition from green to shades of gold and sepia. I drive past this wonderful old olive grove each time I make the trip east to my favorite casino. These graceful, twisting trunks have been turning my head each time I drive past, and I finally decided to stop the car and spend a little time snapping away with my camera. Something about the interesting shapes of trees always keeps me coming back. I expect several more paintings from this area in the coming weeks.
