"Gala"

"Gala"
24" x 24" Oil on Canvas

Birds are chirping, blooms are bursting, and an early Spring is in the air! While browsing through my big box of vacation memories, this shot was just begging to be painted. A stroll down the streets of San Luis Obispo brought this welcome surprise of crispy apples on the tree. I was a good girl and kept my hands to myself...but it wasn't easy :)

"Gala" is painted on 1-1/2" thick gallery wrapped canvas. The sides of this piece are painted black and it is ready to hang, unframed. You may purchase here and have it shipped to your door, or purchase here and pick up at my studio/gallery at Liberty Station, Pt. Loma, and I will refund the shipping. $575 + $35 to ship anywhere in the continental US or Canada. Updated 4/27/15: Sold!

"Just Apples"

"Just Apples"
12" x 12" Framed Pastel on Sandpaper

Dipping into the new box of pastels last week was a real treat. It's funny how my work gravitates toward favorite colors until they are worn down to little round nubs, only to find that months go by before I realize my entire color palette has changed. Today's painting is the pastel version of a very large oil painting completed a few years ago. The composition is fun, and you will soon probably see another large version in oil.

"Just Apples" is offered framed in a wide, black plein air style frame with gold liner and UV/non-glare museum glass. Ready to hang and enjoy. You can purchase here and have it shipped to your door, or purchase here and pick up at my Pt. Loma studio and I'll refund the shipping cost.

"An Apple a Day" and "Friday Night Liberty"

"An Apple a Day"

Yes...another oil painting. I'm having fun with the transition from the "dusty fingered" work of pastel, to the "Now I have to mix all the colors" world of painting in oil. I also found the perfect gold crackle float frames (say that ten times fast), and I have my new favorite combo! I'll have six of these new pieces on display this Friday for "Friday Night Liberty."

And speaking of "Friday Night Liberty"... it all happens this Friday, June 7th, from 5-9pm at NTC Liberty Station. You are invited to browse open art and design studios, quilt and watercolor galleries, and yes... the new Stone Brewing Restaurant is now open! It's a really fun night, with plenty of food, drink and music. Stop by my studio in Barracks 19 and take a peek at what's new.

If you just can't wait...this piece is available here, and you can have it shipped to your door, or pick up at the studio and I'll refund the shipping. $275 + $30 to ship anywhere in the continental US or Canada. Hope to see you soon :) Updated 10/6/13: Sold...to a new local collector!
