Spring has made an early appearance in the garden, and the birds are singing about it! I regularly take a morning walk through the neighborhood, and there is a "birdie tree" right down the street. This time of year the tree is a riot of singing birdies, happy to announce the flowers have arrived. This piece is another of the new sizes I'm trying out, and it was lots of fun to create.

"Bird Candy" is painted in oil on gallery wrapped canvas, sides painted black, ready to hang and enjoy. You can purchase here and have it delivered to your door. $650 with free shipping anywhere in the continental U.S. Updated 4/27/18: Sold!

It is always a joyous moment when a butterfly is spotted, floating through the garden. I think they bring good luck! This beauty was fluttering through the coneflowers at dusk, spreading goodness and cheer. Quickly captured with a cellphone shot, and rendered in oil, she will be remembered forever.

"Make a Wish" is painted on 1-1/2" depth gallery wrapped canvas, sides painted black, ready to hang and enjoy. You can purchase here and have it delivered to your door. $800 with free shipping anywhere in the continental U.S. Updated 11/16/17: Sold...to my collector in Cave Creek :)

Poppy Ballet

The poppies in my back yard are dancing in the warm winds of summer...in fact, the entire yard has turned into something akin to a Disney movie from the 50's. Baby bunnies, dancing flowers and buzzing bumble bees are making their happy debut...all we need is the violin music...oh well, you get the idea :)

"Poppy Ballet" is painted on 1-1/2" depth gallery wrapped canvas, sides painted black, offered ready to hang and enjoy. This painting is available at Adelman Fine Art. Updated 7/31/17: Sold!

After another great ArtWalk weekend, I'm back at the easel having fun creating for my next show at the La Jolla Festival of the Arts on June 20-21. These smaller original oil paintings are a great way to jump start your art collection, or add a pop of color to that special little spot in your home.

"Poppin" is framed in a 1-1/2" deep gold crackle frame, ready to hang and enjoy! $115 + $12 to ship anywhere in the continental US or Canada, or pick up at my Spanish Village studio and I'll refund the shipping. Updated 10/25/15: Sold!

Mmm...I open my studio in the morning and I'm greeted by the smell of oil paint! Painting poppies in pastel is one of my favorite things to do, but it's also a really fun challenge to navigate them in oil paint. Every two weeks or so, my hubby and I visit a local buffet restaurant that always has a huge patch of blooming poppies in the front. I just can't get enough of them...but too many visits to the buffet make for a chubby artist!

"Tangles" is offered framed and available here. You can have it shipped to your door, or pick up at my studio in Pt. Loma and I'll refund the shipping. $275 + $30 to ship anywhere in the continental US or Canada. Hope to see you soon :) Updated 11/1/13: Sold...to a collector in Washoe Valley, Nevada!
