"Coachella II"

The new work for my upcoming shows is progressing nicely. This is another piece from the "Coachella" series, painted from an image I took last spring. The fun thing about the palms in this area, is they all retain their full, original skirts. Usually when we encounter palm trees here in San Diego, they are groomed into skinny trunk pom-poms. The rustling of the dried skirts in the desert wind has a soothing quality, akin to listening to ocean waves crashing on the shore.
