It's time once again for "Friday Night Liberty." This Friday, 5-9pm we will be hosting our monthly "open studio" night in all of the studios and galleries. Food, drink, and music are on hand, so stop by and make it a date night! The location is NTC/Liberty Station in Pt. Loma, just off Rosecrans Street. I'm in Barracks 19 at the corner of Historic Decatur Rd. and Dewey Rd. on the second floor.

"Touch of Luck" - A peek into the reflecting pool at Balboa Park is always a fun adventure. I'm guessing these beauties were pets at some point, then released into the public pond in the park. Big, fat, and healthy, they probably get their fill of popcorn and other treats from visiting kids, and they didn't seem to mind posing for the camera.

Painted on 1-1/2" thick gallery wrapped canvas, the sides of this piece are painted black and it is ready to hang, unframed. Any Sardine fans out there? So I'm at my local Trader Joe's yesterday, stocking up on munchies in preparation to watch the Oscars on tv. Wine, cheese, sausages...and oh...these sardines look interesting. Well it's been a long time since I've had Sardines, and I guess I must have forgotten that eerie yellow/green oil that they are packed in. That can't be anything real can it? Looks strangely "chemical laden" to me...but then I trust Trader Joe's "natural foods" image...so what the heck...
