Summertime and the lemons are crazy! While taking my morning walk each day, I pass by the lemon tree down the street in amazement. This little lemon tree is working overtime, producing some of the most beautiful lemons and foliage in the garden. The birds are happy, the bees are happy, and occasionally I pocket a few that are scattered on the ground, and I'm happy!

The oil paintings are flowing! These lemons were painted for the "Fresh From the Market Series." I love to visit the local farmers market and Trader Joes for inspiration. Tomatoes are also on the easel this week, and I'm trying to think of a fruit or veggie I haven't painted...hmm...come to think of it, I can't recall ever seeing a painting of broccoli...

Yes...another oil painting. I'm having fun with the transition from the "dusty fingered" work of pastel, to the "Now I have to mix all the colors" world of painting in oil. I also found the perfect gold crackle float frames (say that ten times fast), and I have my new favorite combo! I'll have six of these new pieces on display this Friday for "Friday Night Liberty."

And speaking of "Friday Night Liberty"... it all happens this Friday, June 7th, from 5-9pm at NTC Liberty Station. Daily Painters "Lemonaide"

For some reason, the lemon tree doesn't know its winter. Still producing fruit and new pink buds, the smell of lemon blossoms is in the air. Lemonaide in December...ok.
