With Spring on the near horizon, the hillsides are alive with color! Brightly colored native scrub, and new growth from the recent rains have greens all aglow, and flowers making their appearance. I love to pump up the volume and give my pastel box a workout this time of year. This is another of my Central California back road scenes, and one I have done before in a different color palette.

Summer is right around the corner, and I can't wait for my annual trip through central California up to the Monterey Bay/Carmel region. I am always inspired by the hillsides dotted with oak trees along the way through Paso Robles and Santa Maria. I am sure that this year there will be a bit less green than in past years, but the warm, rich ochres and browns are beautiful just the same!
